South African couple Chanel Cartell and Stevo Dirnberger did what many of us would never imagine doing – they quit their jobs to travel the world.
The couple have become a hit on Instagram, amassing 50 000 followers since they began their journey in March this year.
The pair has taken an interesting approach to their photography, including the distance travelled in each picture.
"Once we knew we were going to see the world, we wanted something that would tie it all together; a single concept that would make the trip feel like one story," Dirnberger says of the decision to include their journey's mileage in each picture.
"We loved that it would literally track how far we'd travelled, pushing us to go further to see more," he told iafrica.com.
But what lead them to taking their journey?
At the 2014 Design Indaba the couple attended a talk by Stefan Sagmeister, "the Godfather of creative sabbaticals".
After the talk, Cartell and Dirnberger decided that it was time for them to take their own creative sabbatical.
Thus began their money-saving endeavour.
"We made a conscious decision to spend the next year saving every last cent, so we could also enjoy time off to pursue our own experiments, and not live how society says we should," Cartell told iafrica.com.
"The last two months in South Africa were spent hustling to sell our belongings, and scrape together as much money as we could to make this possible."
Dirnberger says that the aim of the journey is to invigorate their creativity and learn more about themselves.
But is there anything they would change about their journey?
"Perhaps one or two places we stayed at could've been cheaper if we'd booked them sooner," Dirnberger said.
"We'd also bring more Haribo gummies from Austria with us to Norway."
The couple are currently just over 15 700 kilometres into their journey and have a long list of destinations they're still planning on visiting.
They are now enjoying the sights in Norway, after their visit to Austria and Germany.

We were quite surprised with the number of youths running around the square – seems to be the thing to do *drops board and jogs* Follow our story >> link to blog in profile. #HFFH_travels
