Malema will lobby until very last minute

With mere hours to go before the vote of no-confidence, EFF leader Julius Malema has reiterated that ANC MP’s should not fear retribution for voting against corruption.

Malema says he will urge ANC MP’s up until the very last minute to ensure change.

“We’ve fought for all members, not only of the ANC, including other opposition parties who’ve been intimidating their members and forcing them to vote for President Zuma”, says Malema.

Meanwhile, United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa, who took the secret ballot matter to the Constitutional Court, says Tuesday’s vote is about saving South Africa from a corrupt president.

“It’s time for the public representatives to be honest to their oath of office and South Africa, irrespective of a political party one comes from.”

Similarly, ANC stalwarts are calling on the ruling party’s MPs to save the organisation by voting against the president.

Veteran Wally Serote says that while they understand that this will be one of the most difficult ballots to cast, MPs must decide wisely.

“Our duty is to save the ANC from the cracks of a crisis which keeps spiralling.”

Protests and marches have been organised throughout the country in anticipation and support of the vote, highlighting just how vested the South African public is in this decision.
