Family killed on farm in Mpumalanga knew their killer

JOHANNESBURG – The family of four relatives who were killed on a farm in Mpumalanga has told Eyewitness News the victims knew their killer, who has since confessed to the crime.
A woman, her husband and his parents were found dead in their farm house in Modderbuilt on Tuesday morning.
Police arrested a farmworker and his alleged accomplice who are expected to be charged with murder when they appear in the Balfour Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
Family spokesperson Drienie Adlem says one of the suspects was positively identified as a farmworker.
She says the man also confessed to the crime.
“Nobody confronted him. He came to work and then he went to fetch the firearm and then he just shot them all. He was looking for money. He confessed everything to us, and the police.”
Police arrested the men after they traced them through a tracker installed in the family’s stolen vehicle.
One of them was wounded during a shootout with officers.
Meanwhile, two more people have been arrested after they were found in possession of stolen laptops belonging to the victims.
