Pokemon GO Plus launch delayed

Author: Megan Ellis Updated: 02:16 30-07-2016

The launch date of a Pokemon GO wearable has been pushed back by Nintendo, in unfortunate news for Pokemon enthusiasts.

The news was confirmed by Nintendo of America's Twitter account.

"The #PokemonGO Plus accessory will now be released Sept 2016 instead of the originally expected end of July launch," the tweet said.

The Pokemon GO Plus allows you to detect nearby Pokemon without having to look at your phone. You can press the device's button to throw a Pokeball to catch the creature, but only if you've caught the same species before.

It also blinks and vibrates when you're within range of a PokeStop. A simple push of a button on the accessory will allow you to collect items.

It is unclear when the accessory will be available in South Africa – considering as of July 28 the game had not yet officially launched in the country.

However the wearable looks like it will help with the Pokemon hunting process.
