Five goals? Too unrealistic Enrique?

Author: Staff Reporter Updated: 08:15 20-04-2017

After a very poor quarter final first leg to the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona is determined as ever to rectify their 3-0 loss against Juventus.  But is Barcelona manager Luis Enrique aiming too high for their second leg match?

According to sport24, Enrique said that Barcelona will try to score five goals in attempt to overturn their three goal deficit. But just how realistic is this, or are the football giants more than capable of performing this difficult task?

Last night’s game between Real and Bayern was witness to the difficulty one faces at a deficit. But sport24 mentions that “The Spanish side will however draw on their experience in the previous round when they produced the best comeback in the history of the competition to advance to the last eight.”

In case you missed it, Barcelona played against PSG in the second leg of the last 16. Their score was 4-0, which placed them under immense pressure. Barca however always delivers results as they fought towards a 6-1 victory at home, described by many as a “miracle performance”.

Enrique commented on his strategy by saying "Bearing in mind the opponent could have chances and the goal can come at any moment, our objective is to score five.”

He went on to say "We don't have anything to lose. We are free from pressure. Juventus have the semi-finals in their pocket and will have to decide whether to sit back or attack. We only have one option which is to attack, attack and attack again.”

One can only sit in anticipation while watching this match, with the faint possibility of another miracle for Barcelona. Supporters will not only have a close eye on Enrique’s managerial techniques but also on the great Messi, hoping that he is able to put on a better performance this time round.
