We’re lava-ing this hot Airbnb listing!

Author: Mikail Baker Updated: 11:16 20-06-2017

It’s official. The world’s hottest Airbnb listing has been found, and not just because it’s slap-bang in the middle of a solidified lava stream.

Pheonix House lies just four miles (6,4kms) from Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano, in a tiny hamlet known as ‘Pele’s feet’.

Promising “epic volcano views” and ocean scenery, the stark and eerie black lava stretches all around the peculiarly-designed cabin.

Speaking of which, the home itself is equipped with a queen-sized bed, hot water, electricity, and even wi-fi! It’s got a kitchenette, too, and a private driveway.

“From your window, you can see the plume of smoke where the lava meets the ocean creating the newest land on earth,” reads the listing. “Smoking volcano, glistening ocean, and miles and miles of dramatic black lava fields are all part of your expansive view and elemental experience here.”

It sounds dreamy, and at £116 (R1 900) per night, it’s not the most expensive escape out there – if you can find your way to Hawaii’s Big Island.

Kilauea has erupted a total of 66 times in the last 24 years, so if you’re lucky, you’ll could witness a once-in-a-lifetime close-up of the planet’s tectonics at work.
